The 7th EVPA Annual conference took place in Turin on 16 – 17 November 2011.This year’s conference was titled: “Venture Philanthropy as a Catalyst for Societal Change”. Together we looked at how venture philanthropy is impacting society, and how it can generate even greater impact by:
The conference brought together 400 delegates, including social investors, donors, foundations, private equity organisations, advisory firms, private banks, academic institutions and some selected social entrepreneurs.Recognised experts and practitioners identified by an international conference committee lead the various debates, panels and round tables.
The key note speakers included Dr Charly Kleissner, Co-founder of the KL Felicitas Foundation, Damon Buffini, Co-founder of Permira and the Social Business Trust, Andrea Limone, CEO of PerMicro, Luciano Balbo, founder and Chairman of Fondazione Oltre, and Hanne Finstad, founder and CEO of Forskerfabrikken.
Since the industry is still young the focus lied on interactive sessions and round tables, facilitated by one or two experts in order to share experiences, debate challenges and disseminate best practice.
The main networking event of this year’s Conference was held at the Museo Nazionale del Cinema in the iconic Mole Antonelliana.
