Ashoka

Ashoka is the largest network of social entrepreneurs worldwide, with around 3,200 Ashoka Fellows in 80 countries putting their outstanding ideas into practice in order to tackle the most pressing social challenges.

Examples of Ashoka Fellows are the Nobel Peace Price Laureate Muhammad Yunus and Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia.

Ashoka strives to shape a global, entrepreneurial, competitive citizen sector: one that allows social entrepreneurs to thrive and enables the world's citizens to think and act as change makers. Ashoka builds the ecosystem that change makers need to succeed, e.g. by improving access to financing in the social sector.
