Global Social Entrepreneurship Network (GSEN)

About Global Social Entrepreneurship Network (GSEN)

The Global Social Entrepreneurship Network (GSEN) is an initiative launched by the G8 Summit in June 2013. GSEN is the global network for organisations supporting early stage social entrepreneurs. Their mission is to enable support organisations around the world to become increasingly sustainable and effective in helping more social entrepreneurs start and thrive. As a rapidly growing network, GSEN is developing an effective ecosystem of support for social entrepreneurs around the world.

Support for start-up social ventures is emerging and still very experimental globally. Support organisations don’t want to spend resources on reinventing methodologies, but are eager to learn them from others. GSEN offers its members shared learning opportunities, expert resources, and brings them together to share what works and what doesn’t. GSEN aims at creating a strong community of practice: as a network we are structuring the professional body of expertise around the best practices in supporting social entrepreneurs, especially those at early stages.

As a result, organisations become more efficient in providing higher quality support to social entrepreneurs. They are also able to support more of them to start-up, grow, become investment ready and create sustainable social impact.
