First European overview of altruistic finance launched
During the sustainable finance workshops that brought together 100 experts from all over Europe last month in Paris, Axylia Conseil, an independent consulting firm, presented the first overview of altruistic finance in Europe. Altruistic finance includes financial products in which an individual or a financial institution agrees with a charity or a foundation to waive part of its revenue or margin. Axylia Conseil researched various philanthropic financial retail products, such as savings accounts, mutual funds, life insurance contracts and debit and credit cards. The research revealed there are now 430 such solutions in Europe and €10bn has been devoted to altruistic finance across the continent. Of these 430 altruistic financial products, eight won accolades in Axylia Conseil’s Profit for Non Profit Awards 2012, in the categories European Donor Award, Innovation Award and Jury’s Special Award.
