EVPA’s fourth EU Webinar took place on the 17th of June 2015.
There is no doubt about the European Union’s recognition of the importance of social entrepreneurship and social business. The Strasbourg Conference of January 2014 and the numerous actions undertaken since the launch of the Social Business Initiative in 2011 are a living proof of EU’s commitment to the area.

However, the financial support associated with this recognition still represents a blurry area for most venture philanthropy (VP) and social investment (SI) organisations. What types of funding are available to support their work? Whom to contact? How to apply? What are the eligibility criteria? These are only a sample of the questions that EVPA’s webinar on EU funding addressed on the 17th of June, gathering experts from the European Commission, the European Investment Fund as well as recipient organisations.
This webinar was an opportunity to better understand the European Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) and its recently launched Social Entrepreneurship Guarantee, EIF’s “Social Impact Accelerator” (SIA) that invests in social investment funds, as well as explore examples of how the European Social Fund can be used within each Member State to support social entrepreneurship.
