EVPA invites you to a new event series on investing for development. Our intention is to give visibility to topics that are critical to the investing for development community, share best practices and to foster the exchange with development (finance) practitioners.
This new series is a combination of open E-talks and EVPA Meet-ups that will provide our members with the opportunity to dive deeper into the topic. We will also join forces with our sister member networks in Asia (AVPN), Africa (AVPA) and Latin America (Latimpacto) for some of the topics. The topics we identified for the investing for development event series in 2021 include:
Innovative finance is about both mobilising additional capital to close the signficiant SDG finance gap and about deploying capital more effectively and efficiently using innovative financing mechanism. We will introduce basic concepts and mechanism, take a deep dive into some mechanism and look at the role the investing for impact are playing and could be playing in the future.
More information on the public EVPA E-Talk on Innovative Finance on May 12 can be found here and on the Innovative Finance (member only) Deep Dive with focus on key mechanisms of outcome based finance on June 3 can be found here.
Investing in and supporting (social) entrepreneurship development in emerging countries is already an important area of engagement for EVPA‘s Investing for Development community. In the second theme of the Investing for Development event series we would like to explore innovative approaches to finance the “missing middle” and close the financing gap for early stage impact oriented start ups as well as what it takes to support entrepreneurship development, facilitate access to markets and strengthen entrepreneurial eco-systems.
Learn more about this topic and join the public e-talk on "Myths & Realities of Entrepreneurship Development & Finance in Emerging Countries" on September 9.
13 January at 9.00 am (EVPA members only)
Many of EVPA members form partnerships with (public) development agencies, governments in emerging countries, financial institutions and (impact) investors, corporates as well as civil society to co-create innovative solutions to complex challenges in emerging countries and work together for transformative impact. We will have a combination of open E-Talks and member only Meet- Ups during the course of 2022. The exact dates will be shared soon.
