Christian Hanel




Christian Hänel is Senior Vice President Future Issues and Foundation Development at the Robert Bosch Stiftung. He brings almost two decades of experience in philanthropy in various management and advisory roles to the EVPA board. Christian has headed International Relations departments at the Robert Bosch Stiftung, developing and overseeing the foundation's portfolio in America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and North Africa.

He has led the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of international and transnational partnerships and programs in topic areas such as civil society, governance, promoting Europe, international affairs and global issues, education and cultural exchange.

As Senior Vice President Future Issues and Foundation Development, his tasks include challenges and opportunities for the impact ecosystem in the non profit sector, digitization, sustainable alumni networks, agile structures and processes, and theory and practice of strategic foresight.

Before entering the non profit sector, Christian worked in media sales. He holds a M.A. in history and economics from the Universität Bielefeld, Germany, and Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA.
