Dr. Filipe Santos is Dean at Católica-Lisbon School of Business & Economics and Visiting Professor at INSEAD.

Dr. Filipe Santos is the Dean of CATóLICA-LISBON School of Business & Economics. He is the Chaired Professor in Social Entrepreneurship at CATóLICA-LISBON and Visiting Professor at INSEAD. Formerly he was the founding President "Portugal Social Innovation" a government initiative created in January 2015 with 150M euros of funding with the mission of financing social innovation and creating a market for social investment in Portugal. Professor Santos holds a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation.

He was a full-time professor of entrepreneurship at INSEAD between 2003 and 2014, where he led the INSEAD Entrepreneurship Centre (ICE) since 2009 and directed the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Program (ISEP) from 2007 to 2014. His research on organisational theory, entrepreneurship and social innovation received international awards and has been published in top journals, with more than 6500 citations in Google Scholar. He is author of the "The Social Entrepreneur's Guide to Changing the World". As a teacher, Professor Santos won INSEAD teaching awards for MBA and EMBA courses on entrepreneurship and developed the social entrepreneurship bootcamp. He is a regular key-note speaker on topics of entrepreneurship and impact investing. He also mentors social entrepreneurs and advises venture investors. A native of Portugal and a serial social entrepreneur, Filipe was a co-founder of IES - Social Business School in 2009 and the Social Investment Laboratory in 2013. He has been a Board Member of the European Venture Philanthropy Association since 2015 and is Chair for 2019.
