Next year we’re heading to cooler climates, so be sure to prepare your jacket, because on 9 -10 November we'll be meeting in Oslo. Stay tuned for more on the next edition! But for now, you can already save-the-date, and glance over the 2016 Annual Conference.
There’s nothing more powerful than a community that comes together to share ideas, stories and hope. The EVPA Annual Conference 2016 was by far the number one VP event in Europe, bringing together more than 550 of the leading players from VP and social investment funds, foundations, NGOs, governments, corporations, banks and universities. In sum: a unique experience. If you want to see the pictures of the event, please visit the album.
Connect with members and peers
EVPA Annual Conference offered exceptional opportunities for networking and establishing much-valued connections. Attendees meet with organisations similar to their own and shared challenges and opportunities. The mix of sectors and expertise gave them the opportunity to learn from others, share their own experiences and strategies, and develop a common vision on the future of VP. This year we had 525+ attendees, but who knows next year?
For those new to the sector we organised our VP crash course, where attendees learned all the basics of VP and social investment.
Participants walked away with a solid understanding of:
- different investment models within VP and social investment
- ways to manage and measure societal impact
- the what and how of an exit strategy
- best practices in board management and conflict resolution
- how to provide non-financial support to social purpose organisations (SPOs)
Networking dinner and tour
While in Paris for the Annual Conference, we also enjoined a dinner which offered a unique chance to connect and exchange information with a small group of Conference participants while enjoying the Paris highlights.
Embarked on the Bretagne, a vessel which combines tradition and modernity, we (re)discovered the full splendour of the river banks and monuments of Paris with an English guide, enjoyed authentic French cuisine and had some great networking opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere.
