Webinar By Latimpacto and EVPA
Latimpacto launched the Spanish and Portuguese translations of the EVPA "Investing for Impact Toolkit". This toolkit is a hands-on guide not just for practitioners entering the impact ecosystem, but also for those who would like to become more efficient in adopting the principles of the EVPA Charter of Investors for Impact.
EVPA and Latimpacto co-hosted a free webinar to present the translated toolkit and to show how investors for impact from Latin America and Europe set up organisations investing for impact, define their investment strategies and manage the investment process.
The webinar took place on Tuesday, 11th May at 15.30-17.00 (CEST, Brussels time), 8.30-10.00 (Colombia, Per√∫, México time), 9.30-11.00 (Chile time), 10.30-12.00 (Argentina, Brazil time).

Santiago Alvarez
Santiago has more than 15 years of experience in investments, including 10 years dedicated to investments in emerging countries and impact investments in Latin America and Africa. Additionally, Santiago has an extensive experience in management consulting, as well as in entrepreneurship.
Santiago is co-founder and Managing Partner at ALIVE. Previous to ALIVE, Santiago was an Investment Manager at Bamboo Capital Partners where he was responsible for identifying, structuring and managing investments in Latin America, mainly in the sectors of financial inclusion and access to energy and education. Before joining Bamboo Santiago worked in London for the private equity fund ACTIS, where he was focused on monitoring and structuring investments in the energy sector in Africa and Latin America. Santiago also worked on the launch of the Adobe Capital impact fund in Mexico and for many years was a consultant for Stratco, one of the leading consulting firms in Colombia. Santiago was also a researcher for Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, a consultant for Zoona, a mobile payment company in Zambia and co-founder of Prosperitas, a microfinance institution in Colombia.
Santiago has an MBA from the University of Oxford, a Master's Degree in Poverty Reduction and Development from the University of Birmingham in the UK and an Industrial Engineer Bachelor Degree from the Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia. Additionally Santiago was an Investors Circle Fellow and Skoll Center Associate Fellow.
Wouter Vandersypen
Wouter has the pleasure of leading Kampani. Kampani is a Brussels-based social impact investment fund which provides patient capital for capex heavy investments in the agrofood sector in the Global South. Kampani is an impact-first investment fund and a niche player.
Prior to becoming Kampani's Executive Director, Wouter was a consultant for PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers). He also worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Rescue Committee and the World Bank.
Wouter is on the Board of Fairtrade Belgium, Trias, and a traditional private equity investment fund, called Invale NV.
He holds a Master's degree in International Relations & Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and a degree in Political Sciences from the University of Leuven, having studied in Leuven, Tübingen and Fribourg.
Carolina Suárez
Carolina is CEO of LatImpacto, the Latin America Venture Philanthropy Network, a regional community of social investors that connects and mobilizes capital (human, intellectual, and financial) committed to achieving the most significant social and environmental impact.
Mrs Suárez has over 14 years of experience in the fields of private social investment and philanthropy. Throughout her career and as an expert working with the social sector, she has played a strategic role in the international arena in promoting effective transformations by knowledge sharing and building effective partnerships. She is a reference on strategic approaches to philanthropy and is frequently invited to participate in high-level debates regarding private social investment.
Before heading LatImpacto, she was a Senior Adviser at the International Venture Philanthropy Center (IVPC), where she co-led and strategized the creation of the LatImpacto, based on the success of the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EPVA) and the Asian Venture Philanthropy Association (APVN).
Mrs Suárez was also the Founder and CEO of the Association of Family and Corporate Foundations -AFE Colombia- since its creation in March 2008 until June 2018. During these years, she positioned, nationwide and internationally, the AFE as a leading entity and point of reference in philanthropic and social issues, projecting its reach all over Colombia and to international borders, where she contributed to achieving greater synergies and alliances to carry out projects with major social impact, and influencing public policy to promote social transformations through the collective work.
Arnau Picón Martínez
Arnau Picón is Knowledge and Learning Associate at Impact Europe. Since joining Impact Europe in February 2019, Arnau has conducted research on topics related to the impact ecosystem, such as impact measurement and management and the role of crowdfunding platforms within the impact sector.
Previously, Arnau worked in the Social Policy Area of a Local Government and in the communication sector as a journalist. He holds a Msc in Economic Development from the University of Glasgow and a Bachelor Degree in Journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He speaks Spanish, Catalan, English and French.
